Final edition of map designed by Hans Schleger, with all color from 1939 edition removed due to wartime, printed in brown and blue only. Beck's underground maps had been published in 1932. In 1938 Beck's design was used in a from of card folder, designed by Hans Schleger, published in 1938, 1939 and 1941. Although the map maintained all the elements of the Beck's circuit approach but with distinctive modification with blue-green background intended to highlight the central area, shows early sign of zoning, and absence of the iconic Underground logo on the map.
